A Case for Smiles

Granny's is a ConKerr Cancer pillowcase drop-off.

In 2002, Cindy Kerr's son was diagnosed with cancer.  Cindy began making fun pillowcases to brighten his room, and bring a smile to his face.  He loved them, and soon she was making them for other children at the Oncology Unit at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.  Since then, A Case for Smiles, has grown with school and church groups, sewing guilds and quilt shops pitching in and making pillowcases with fun fabrics.

Instructions for making the pillowcases is available at Granny's or visit

We are experimenting with laminate.  Beth has made 3 raincoats (One for an American Girl). Lori and Wanda made 2 different bags.  This is an easy product with which to work  if you follow Beth's tips.
